March 16, 2025: church family meeting at 3pm
Our next Church Family Meeting will be at Easthaven at 3PM on Sunday, March 16.
We will gather as a Church Family and vote on the nominated lay leadership names.
NOMINATED LAY LEADERSHIP NAMES
Last November, our church elected two men to serve on the Committee for Committees, tasked with identifying, training, and mentoring new and existing Standing Committee members and Volunteer Ministry Leaders, as outlined in our By-Laws. As we approach the nomination season, we invite you to consider serving in one of the following areas:
Standing Committees:
Personnel Committee: Oversees compensation, benefits, policies, and performance reviews of all paid staff, including the Senior Pastor.
Stewardship Committee: Manages the financial functions of the church, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow monitoring.
International Missions Committee: Guides efforts to share the Gospel beyond North America, coordinating mission events, trips, and related fundraising.
Local Missions Committee: Directs initiatives to share the Gospel within North America, organizing local mission events and outreach projects.
Committee for Committee: Identifies, trains, and mentors new and existing Standing Committee members and Volunteer Ministry Leaders, as outlined in our By-Laws.
According to the By-Laws, we are also accepting self-nominations for the following lay leadership:
Men’s Ministry Leader
Women's Ministry Leader
Trustees
Here’s how the process will work for New Committee Members:
Self-nominations: To ensure that the nomination process is thorough and Spirit-led, we encourage self-nomination as the primary approach. If you feel called to serve, please self-nominate by filling out the form online: easthaven.org/leadership before February 23.
Personal Recommendations: If a church member or Committee Chairperson believes someone would be an excellent fit for a committee, we encourage you to approach that individual directly and encourage them to self-nominate. The Committee for Committees will not take names or follow up directly on third-party recommendations.
Process and Timeline:
Once nominations are submitted, the Committee for Committees will reach out to nominees to confirm their willingness and availability to serve. A final list of new committee members will be submitted for approval and communication. We will vote on this list at the next Church Family Meeting (more details coming).
How You Can Participate:
We encourage everyone in our congregation to:
Pray for wisdom and discernment during this process.
Reflect on your own gifts and consider whether God is calling you to serve.
Support and encourage others who may feel led to serve by nominating themselves.
For any questions, or to learn more about the process, please contact the church office. Together, we trust God to provide capable and faithful leaders to serve His church.
